Position Overview
A thriving North Carolina CPA firm with multiple locations enjoying continued growth at our Wilmington branch. We are looking to bring on a Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of tax compliance and planning, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while maximizing tax efficiencies for the organization and maximizing returns for our valued clients. This role involves managing a small team of tax accounting professionals and working closely with clients, internal associates and leadership to provide exceptional tax services.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns for various entities, including S Corps and partnerships.
Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients to minimize tax liabilities.
Assist in compliance with multi-state tax regulations and ensure accurate reporting.
Provide guidance and support to junior team members, mentoring them in tax accounting practices.
Maintain strong client relationships by addressing inquiries and providing expert tax advice.
Conduct research on various tax issues and keep abreast of changes in tax legislation.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred, or CPA candidate
5+ years of experience in public accounting with focus on tax.
Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and practices.
Experience with QuickBooks and tax software.
Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively, to guide and mentor tax associates.
Excellent communication and client relations skills.
Experience with corporate tax accounting and income tax compliance.
